plug in those points and see which ones solve the equation

Can You Explain ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SwiftDrift Please

OpenStudy (dan815):

y=-3x+5 is a function ^----that takes x and does a bunch of stuff to it and spits out y value

OpenStudy (dan815):

so look at the table they gave you, the table has x values and their corresponding y values

OpenStudy (dan815):

therye asking you if they are doing these operations to x y=-3x+5 <----- which one of those tables makes sense

OpenStudy (dan815):

so we can see, by substituting those values they have for x and seeing if they are giving the right corresponding y values

OpenStudy (dan815):

you should try it for a couple points because, it can work for one of two but it wont work for all of them

OpenStudy (dan815):

look at the 2nd point on table A (1,10) lets see if this works y=-3x+5 10=-3*(1)+5 10 not equal to 2 so table 1 is no good try the points in table 2 and 3 yourself
