Use the quadratic formula to find any x intercepts on the graph of the equation y=x^2-6x-5

OpenStudy (mandre):

You know what the quadratic formula is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (mandre):

\[x=\frac{ -b \pm \sqrt{b ^{2}-4ac} }{ 2a }\] Put your formula into the form \[ax ^{2}+bx +c = 0\] then you substitute those numbers into the formula and solve.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

You should also know that any quadratic equation always has 2 roots. Sometimes the roots equal each other, sometimes they are both complex (imaginary) but you should always have 2 roots.
