Why should we use the metric system in science?

It's easier to understand because it's based off of 10's. 10s, 100, 1,000, and so on. It makes calculations easier to perform and things easier to measure. Another reason would be that every country in the world uses the metric system EXCEPT the U.S. which uses the very confused imperial system. The metric system is *almost* a global system.
