A hollow metal sphere has 5.0 cm and 9.0 cm inner and outer radii, respectively. The surface charge density on the inside surface is -85 nC/m2. The surface charge density on the exterior surface is +85 nC/m2. What is the strength of the electric field 2.3 cm from the center?

2.3 cm is inside the sphere. Due to Gauss's law if there is no charge inside that sphere with radius 2.3 there is no electric field.
