Randy has 4 black socks, 3 brown socks, and 3 blue socks in his drawer. If he selects 2 socks at random, what is the probability that he will select a pair the same color?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7/10 I think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because 4 black socks thats two pairs (2) and then three brown socks thats one pair (1) and then three blue socks would be one pair too (1) so my bad i think its 4/10 and10 is the total amount of socks so it would be the denominator

Oh. Thanks!

No problem man
