Is @AravindG a Moderator now? :) Or still an ambassador? (:
Or is he just a mod for the IIT study group?
What the......
Yes he's a group moderator. The one who made the studygroup was the group moderator, or the one with the highest smartscore online. They removed all the user-made study groups except IIT Study group which was made by @AravindG , So he is still shown as the group moderator.
Good insight, as far as I had researched all the groups had been taken off but I see differently now lol
But a group mod can only delete questions/replies, bump/close questions and probably kick users from the group.
Oh I see, that seems like a good system, too bad it had to be abused and taken off...
Well the admins still have the ability to appoint group mods, but I guess global mods are more efficient :P
Yes but we can't just make a new group anymore like back then.
Well good thing we can't. With the current population on OS, that would be abused like 10 times worse than back then.
Well if the right restrictions were set in place it would be okay :)
Maybe it's an idea for the hackathon (if it's every going to happen) Private study groups :))) Only accessable when the group mod (the maker) invites you to join the group. That would be cool
Oh, see, I knew they could appoint group mods lol. That is why i asked @thomaster if that was his case :P
omg yeah, @thomaster yeah like a private study group made (with the permission of a mod or admin of course) and then like the "admin" of the group is in charge of who joins and stuff.. nice idea.
hehe...hehehe..HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *falls on knees* HAHAHAHAHAHAH..."Hackathon" LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL HAHAHAHAHAHA
Well I don't see why the permission of a mod or admin is necessary. When it's private, you won't bother other people with it.
to verify if it is appropriate, i would assume?
there are some users who would probably abuse that and make trolling groups.
Or we could do: 0 - 29 [Private Group With Permission] 30 - 59 [Private Group Without Permission] 60 - 69 [Public Group With Permission] 70 - 99 [Public Group Without Permission]
And they all have a verification process where it checks for key words and topics.
mhm i like the idea. yet why is it like: [Private Group With Permission] then [Private Group Without Permission] then [Private Group With Permission] then [Private Group Without Permission] lol why the skip one, and so on stuff :P
And: 0 - 29 [2 Hour Waiting Time After Admin Approval] 30 - 59 [1 Hour Waiting Time After Verification] 60 - 69 [30 Minute Waiting Time After Approval] 70 - 99 [10 Minute Waiting Time After Approval]
Because someone could make a new account and make a new private group that is bad and start inviting everyone and people not knowing would go, also it would start to clog up our servers if everyone started to make new groups whenever they want.
I can create an account and get it to 60 in 1 day... Very easy
Which is another reason why 60's have to have an approval
Well there are a lot of 99 trolls so new public groups are not an option. only private
Hmm...
omg yeah. there are a couple 99 SS users who ummm are just kinda trolly.
Private groups, yes. I like the idea.
Besides this would be a trial thing, if it works ut we keep it, if not we tweak it....
He is a moderator :)
lol I KNEW you were going to respond to this post when you'd become mod xD
