You know that the surface area of a cube is the sum of the area, of all the sides. Since it is a cube, you know that all the sides are of equal lengths and thus equal areas. So 300 = 6(side area), because a cube has six sides. You also know that each face is a square, that a square has 4 equal sides, and that the area is the 2s, (side area) = 2(side length)..
