Range of y=2sin(2x-3)+5 is?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Range of \(\sin(Something)\) is [-1,1] Range of \(2\sin(Something)\) is [-2,2] What's the last piece?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not sure...

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

"+5" That's all you have left. What does it do to the rest of the pile?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

moves everything up +5 vertically?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

That's it. So, now answer the question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

stilll not getting "Range of sin(Something) is [-1,1] Range of 2sin(Something) is [-2,2]"

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Tell me what a Range is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a specific area where the answer is right?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

No. I have no idea what that means. What values can the sine function take on? Said another way, if I evaluate the since function, can I get 2, 4, -3, 0, 1, -1/2, 6/7? What values can I possibly get out of a sine function?
