Find the slope intercept form for the line satisfying the conditions perpendicular to y=-1/2*x+3, passing through point (6,-1). What is the equation of the line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

perpendicular line have a slope negative reciprocal of the slope of the given function

I am not understanding what you are saying, I am learning all of this for the first time. This is what I got y-(-1)=-2x+12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

perpendicular line have a slope negative reciprocal of the slope of the given function so the slope will be 2, then plug it in to the slope formula: y=mx+b, solve for b using the given points

But I am supposed to write the equation in slope-intercept form?????? I am going off my book, isn't what I put down slope-intercept form?
