Write a polynomial function of minimum degree with real coefficients whose zeros include those listed. Write the polynomial in standard form. 2, -4, and 1 + 3i

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand that you multipy out the root terms (x-2)(x+4)(x-(1+3i))(x-(3+i)) but I don't know how you deal with multiplying the i terms

OpenStudy (amistre64):

just think of "i" as an extra variable at the moment

OpenStudy (amistre64):

and your setup may be a little off

OpenStudy (amistre64):

2, -4, and 1 + 3i need to include the conjugate of the complex zero (1-3i) 2, -4, (1+3i), (1-3i) and i just subtract x from each term and multiply (2-x) (-4-x) (1+3i-x) (1-3i-x)
