Like I think I get it but I get confused at the part where it's like

It means that if you don't have proper education then you will be in poverty,and have to do odd jobs to make money like a machine.

I think that the verse you posted means that slavery used to be the main problem, and now it's poverty. The reason we have poverty is al the illiteracy and the big corporates get all the money (Hence "It's only a machine that makes money")... idk lol. I guess it's meant to mean whatever you get from it
