Part 2: (5 points) It’s your turn to be a game show host! As you know, in the game of Math Time, the contestants are given an answer and they must come up with the question that corresponds to the given answer. Your task for this portion of the assignment is to create two different “answers” (and the questions that accompany them) that the host could use for the final round of Math Time. The questions and answers you create must be unique. Check out the example and hint below, if needed. 1 point for creating the two questions and answers. 2 points per question/answer for accuracy.

Example: Question for Host: x2 + 6x + 5 is the product of these two binomials. Expected Question from Contestant: What is (x + 5)(x + 1)? HINT: Create the two binomials first and then use the distribution method to find their simplified product. The simplified product is the answer and the two binomial factors, the expected question.

can someone please walk me through this and help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, you need a question with two answers, and that's all. Any quadratic polynomial will have 2 factors.. In fact you can create innumerable such polynomials. The given example, hence in itself is the solution to your problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no idea how to do any of this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats why i would like someone to go step by step with me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to multiply 2 binomials , say x+3 and x-2 , can you do that for me ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x+3)(x-2) = ?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

haha...how about Question: 7 answer: what is 5+2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im confused :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think the question is scaring you. It simply says you to create a question with 2 answers , or mathematically to create an equation having 2 solutions. That's all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhm ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, can you simplify (x+3)(x-2) for me ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no idk how

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haven't you learned basic algebra yet ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

smh thanks for the help. goodbye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya, goodbye . Take my advice and learn basic algebra first.
