can you factor and give the answer and step by step process a4b+a2b3

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

$$\large \tt a^4b+a^2b^3=a^2b(a^2+b^2)$$

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please provide the step by step process

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

You need to find common factors that are contained in both terms. The common factor is \( \tt a^2b\). Once you bring this out of the parentheses figure out what you need to do to multiply to get each term. For example, we need to get to $$a^4b$$ starting with $$a^2b$$ What do we need to multiply to get this?

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

Can you see the exponent is different for \(a\) but not for \( b\)?
