OpenStudy (chaise):

Dot product of a complex conjugate, see below.

OpenStudy (chaise):

If a dot b = \[\sum_{i=1}^{\infty}a_{i}b_{ci}\] where bci is the complex conjugate of b, what is the dot product when a=(3+2i,5-i) b=(-1+5i,3-3i) I am having trouble applying this formula, any help :)?

OpenStudy (dan815):

u sum each component

OpenStudy (chaise):

Please don't tell me how to do it, just do it with as much working out as possible, thanks :)

OpenStudy (chaise):

This is also when a and b are elements of the number set C, complex numbers. So I am talking about dot products of complex numbers
