Solve the following system of equations. x - 2y = 6 2x - 4y = 10 A. Infinitely Many Solutions B. No Solutions C. (0, 0) D. (6, 10) answer and explanation please

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Solve the first equation for x and then plug that into the second equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you notice that when you multiply the first eqn by 2, you get exact same equation as second equating to different number.. This concludes that they are NOT INDEPENDENT. when you have 2 unknowns with 2 equations that are dependent , you cannot solve.
