Using complete sentences, explain how to completely factor 3x2 − 3x − 60.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you would factor out the 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

giving you\[3(x^2 -x-20)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then you find two numbers that multiply to make -20, but also when added together give you -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then in this case the numbers would be 4 and -5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which would be (x+4)(x-5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and since you still have that 3 you factored out, you bring it back in and it would be 3(x+4)(x-5)

ty so much ^^
