Find the standard form of the equation of the parabola with a focus at (-4, 0) and a directrix at x = 4.

since the focus is at (-4,0) and the directix is at x=4, the center is at (0,0) because it's the midpoint of these two.
right
since the focus is on the negative part of the x-axis, the parabola is facing to the left
the standard form of a horizontal parabola is (y-k)^2=4p(x-h

k=y of vertex (k=0) h=x of vertex (h=0) p= the distance from the vertex to the focus (p=-4)
so your answer is y^2=-16x
