1. Find the Taylor polynomial of degree 2 for expanded about: a) x0=1 b) x0=1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and what's the difference between a and b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x)=x^2-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand how to make a taylor polynomial?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i only know equation of polynomial

OpenStudy (psymon):

Well degree 2 just tells us how many derivatives we're going to carry the formula out to. So overall, the formula is: \[f(c) + f'(c)(x-c) + \frac{ f''(c) }{ 2! }*(x-c)^{2}.....\]So really all we need to do is fill in the blanks with that information with c = 1.
