Detail differences between a law and a theory.

OpenStudy (theeric):

Hello! To be brief, a law is a statement that, even with the best attempts, cannot be disproven with a proper experiment. A theory, then, is just thoughts to explain why the law is what it is. Theories can change over time, given new information and different ways of thinking. As an example, you can research the history of atomic models! But, because laws are so rigorously tested before acceptance as a law, they are not likely to change. Any questions? :)
