What is present perfect and past perfect??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We use the Present Perfect to say that an action happened at an unspecified time before now. [has/have+past participle} Example: I have seen that movie twenty times. The Past Perfect expresses the idea that something occurred before another action in the past. Also, it can show that something happened before a specific time in the past. [has+past participle] Example: I had never seen such a beautiful beach before I went to Kauai. Hope this helps! :)
