multiply and simplify (3c-4)(4c-6)

OpenStudy (zpupster):

use the F.o.i.l. method. do you know that???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes first outter inner last, but it keeps throwing me off for some reason

OpenStudy (zpupster):

lets try again first 3c times 4c = outside -4(-6)= inside(-4)(4c)= last= -4)(-6) =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12c

OpenStudy (zpupster):

no the first remember is 12 c ^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24

OpenStudy (zpupster):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-16c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (zpupster):

sorry outside should be 3c(-6)

OpenStudy (zpupster):

12c^2-18c-16c+24

OpenStudy (zpupster):

now remember to simplify combine - 18c-16c = -34c and it should read like this: 12c^2-34c+24 or you could pull out the 2 and it reads like 2(6c^2 -17c + 12)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok... thanks i think it was the 2 that was confusing me

OpenStudy (zpupster):

good job!!!

THank you very much
