Let X be the length of a base side. The lateral area of a square prism equals height times base side. [A=h*X] Where A=lateral area, h=height, X=base side The lateral area is 144 cm^2 and the height is 6 cm. So let's put that in our equation. 144=6*X Now we divide both sided by 6 to get X. X=24 Therefore, the length of a side of the base is 24 cm.
Thank you! I was thinking 24, but I wasn't 100% sure.
