Why did the passing of atomic secrets to the Soviet Union by the Rosenbergs represent a significant threat to the United States? It meant that the Soviet Union would be able to make a direct nuclear attack on the U.S. mainland. It meant that the Soviet Union would be able to develop defenses to stop U.S. nuclear attacks on Soviet territory. It meant that the United States would no longer be the only nation on earth with control over atomic weapons. It meant that the United States and the Soviet Union would be likely to exchange atomic bomb attacks in the Korean War.

What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, I don't believe so, If you know about the Cuban Missile Crisis, The Soviets would need to move their missiles to Cuba to be able to hit the US

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what do you think it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe it is C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright. I'll put that then. I am really on a deadline here. I have at least 30 minutes to finish this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh. what is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In 1950, why did the Soviet Union object to the inclusion of China as one of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council? At the time, communists were attempting to take over China and had yet to succeed. China would have greater veto power than the Soviet Union and would veto Soviet ideas. At the time, China was a U.S possession and would vote against Soviet interests China had just become communist and the Soviets did not want another communist nation on the council.

It's my segmetn exam and I've really been trying to look through notes and my lessons and I just can't find them anywhere.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what do you think this question is? I just put the last answer, because I wasn't really sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did some research, and I think it is C, but it isn't clear..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright. Thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry for just plainly giving out answers, I normally don't

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's okay. I don't mind. I just really needed the giving of answers out right now. I HAD to finish the exam to pass my class. Thank you SO much.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And I passed. I got a 73%.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Next time, organize your notes and study a bit more ;)

To make this clear in 1950 mainland China was already communist, under Moa, the China voted in was Formosa, today Taiwan. but was changed to mainland China in the 70's after they got nuclear weapon capabilities.
