how do i find the missing height lenghth or width of a rectangular prism if i know the volume

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The formula for the volume of a rectangular prism is \(V = LWH \) where V = volume L = length W = width H = height

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Solve the equation for the unkown quantity that you are looking for. For example, if you don't know the height, solve the formula for H: \(V = LWH \) Divide both sides by LW: \( \dfrac{V}{LW} = H \) \(H = \dfrac{V}{LW} \) The height is the volume divided by the product of the length and width. If the unknown is the width, solve the equation for the width in a similar way. If the unknown is the length, solve for the length. In each case, you will see that in each case, the length, width or height is equal to the volume divided by the product of the other two dimensions.
