please guys help me ... You work for an insurance company. 80% of your company’s staff is sales force and 70% of your company’s sales force is male. In your company as a whole, 60% of the staff is male. a) Create the Venn Diagram for this data. (Hints: Draw two circles, one represents “male” and the other represents “on the sale force”) b. What portion of your company’s staff is male AND on the sales force? c. What portion of your company’s staff is female AND on the sales force

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Did you draw the two, interlocking circles?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i have

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@tkhunny

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Did you label one circle "Sales Force" and the other "Males"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i have

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

How about Sales Force Circle = 80% and Male Circle = 60%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is where ma problem lie ..how to go about getting the figures ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What class is this anyway?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

They are in the problem statement.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

80% of your company’s staff is sales force 60% of the staff is male.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so how many are both male and in sales force

OpenStudy (theeric):

And \(70\%\) of the sales force, which is \(80\%\) of the company, is both male and in the sales force. So what is \(70\%\) of \(80\%\)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

70% of your company’s sales force is male 80% of your company’s staff is sales force Meaning male and in sales force is 70% of 80%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k..wat of the question c ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

80% of your company’s staff is sales force X % is male and in sales force So assuming non male is female, that means 80% - X%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I HAD BOTH MEN AND IN DSALES FORCE TO BE 56 %

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@wio

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what is 80% minus 56%?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SO that means only males will be 70 - 56 = 14%

OpenStudy (theeric):

Nevermind, I misread the question.

OpenStudy (theeric):

I agree with @wio .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but what i dont get now is if there are 60% of males in the company, adding 14% that represents males to 56 that is the itersection will = 70%..does that mean the 60% in the question id useless>

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The 60% figure was not needed to do b and c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok...aww you guys are one of the best..

OpenStudy (theeric):

Thanks :)
