C?, at the time the US had 50% of the worlds wealth and based on Capitalism wanted to stop the spread of communism since 1918.  With the Marshal Plan the US corporation received about 70% of that loaned to Europe in goods and services.  Presently the US has about 25% of the worlds wealth.
