can't help you answer questions while you're doing a test/exam. Read the code of conduct.

its formative, meaning it doesnt count as a grade.

can you just help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In the inverse of an equation you flip the roles of the "x" and the "y" variables so if f(x) = 7x + 12 (which is y = 7x+12) then the inverse would be x= 7y+12 then you isolate "y" and divide by 7 to find the value of y

Also, an important thing to note is that when solving for the inverse of f(x), I would treat it its inverse as "y" instead of f(x) because until you solve completely, you can't know if it's a function or not (which f(x) denotes)

thanks, i actually get it now! @slottedpig
