not really when i solve it, im always short a hundred

i tried to multiply 12 by 8 and then multiply 2 by 2 to the answer too but it came out as 384, too much

then i tried to do 12 by 4 and 8 by 4 individually then add them together but i got the answer 80 and was short by about two hundreds
