is windows essentials security a good anti virus software..
What your the question? Are you having trouble with that statement?
i meant microsoft security essentials.. is it a good anti virus software...
Real world comparison of Anti-Virus programs: http://www.av-comparatives.org/ Very few free ones rate well...
i used the anti- virus and its awesome. just you need to keep updating it and it works awesome
@Anuj05 you might want to rethink that. Here are two recent, independent tests that were done six months apart. MSSE failed badly both times. http://www.bit-tech.net/news/bits/2013/01/17/ms-security-av-test/1 http://redmondmag.com/articles/2013/07/17/security-essentials-fails-test.aspx I don't think any other free antivirus scores as low as Microsoft does.
Microsoft Security Essentials is a fairly good tool for a free tool, and if you don't want to pay for further protection, it's probably the best you'll find. If you have anything on your computer that would cost you a lot of money if you lost it, then you should have better protection. For personal use, you need to weigh the cost against the benefit. If you need strong protection, you'll either need to pay for it or isolate the machine.
@bdean20 "...and if you don't want to pay for further protection, it's probably the best you'll find." Care to back that up with any independent data? Have you compared it to Avira or Avast? Ever looked at how much more powerful a browser protector Noscript is?
ok, thanks alot
