Glitch?
LOL the pic at the top is different then the one showing up here lol
How id it get that picture from my computer?
This is so wierd
Which one?
<--
Maybe you have uploaded it before?
Never, I'm sure
wtf.... maybe when you changed pictures you put the worng one :/
The original pic I chose what the Carrie one
was*
Major weird
Look in chat. The carrie pic in chat
Maybe we can get an expert advice here @shadowfiend
yupp weird
@thomaster elaborate here with us
maybe your computer messed up and sent both pics?
I mean this has to be that the server has had this pic in it before
Change your avatar now and let's see what happens
^yupp good idea
Fixed
hm it just changed
It fixed
wonder why it got that pic in the first place
she said she never uploaded it
Probably linkd to the wrong pic because of a mistke in the ID etc.
But she NEVER uploaded it before
Sadly the image was too small to ID it properly. Would have needed the larger version to find the source.
But the thing is it did uplod the picture, it uploaded both for some reason.
No, it probably crosslinked a setting on the account for the different uses. With the way you do things in MogoDB, there is some replication of things that can happen and if they don't have journaling on, then this is not unusual. A bad write pellets one bit in one setting and it is looking at a different ID which is lined to a completely different image.
A bad write shifts one bit in....
LOL that typo, anyways I see what you mea but how did it upload a pic that was on her computer?
Ah, it is actually on the machine? Hmmm.... Now that is odd.
That's what I mean, she hasn't uploaded it before.
I can only think that maybe when she sent in one file something happened and OS took the wrong one or something :/
One time I had something like this, I ended up with some other user's photo.. :/
That could only happen at the time of upload... unless the JavaScript on the site does a lot more in the background than you know.... hmmm.... Because it was seen by others, it is not like the browser cache was making a mistake.
Well that is understandable KC, the server could of messed up and switched them but not take it from your PC and upload it.
It also followed her around, she had to reupload the pic to refresh the pictures
But it was weird, it just uploaded to be that user's photo, I was like :O And then if I went to questions and all it had that photo even when I chatted!
That's what happened to her except she had 2 pics
I mean I have seen some weird bugs on OS but that one is just.....creepy..
I really like it...
Yeah it is.. @JA1
Its time for the FBI of OpenStudy to step in.
I already tagged Shadowfiend, if anyone has an answer it's him.
@farmdawgnation
Why are you tagging all the admins? Calm yourself! lol
Well farm was logged on right when I tagged him but I guess we weren't worthy of his appearance on here :P
Yeah, the timestamp on it probably didn't get updated, so it didn't fetch the latest version from the server. It should eventually settle, and for most people it should have worked correctly.
@shadowfiend , I bow down to thee
LOL ^
still confused as to how it got it in the first place...
Some things can't be explained... Well they probably can but you'd need to dig really deep to find out what went wrong. And I don't think it's necessary since this rarely happens and it's also a temporary bug/glitch so eventually it'll fix itself.
Yes what happened happened but it will forever haunt me that OS has the capability of pullling up pics from your computer O_O
@thomaster the real issue JA1 is concerened with is near the top. This post: love_jessika15 "How id it get that picture from my computer?" It seems this is some other image that love_jessika15 never used on OS, but that is on their machine. So OS went into their computer and pulled a different image from it. All without permission.
^^^^^^^^ I can't write enough of these: "^"
No need to write. Just let this run forever: ``` while true: print('^ ', end='') ```
hehe perfect!
