f(x)=tan(3x-(pi/2)) period and asymptote

OpenStudy (psymon):

Well again, the period is the normal period divided by B (the number paired withthe variable). So the normal period of tangent is pi. So this means the period will be pi/3. This function has a phase shift as well. The phase shift is how much we shift the graph over left or right. The phase shift is C/B, coming from the standard form of Atan(Bx-C). So C/B for you would be (pi/2)/3 = (pi/6). So now you just need to know where the asymptote NORMALLY is and then shift that ovr pi/6 units :3
