solve: x/5-y/6=1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve for x or y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have to graph the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So solve for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ x }{ 5 } - \frac{ y }{ 6 } = 1\] \[\frac{ y }{ 6 } = \frac{ x }{ 5 } - 1\] \[y = \frac{ 6x }{ 5 } - 6\]

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

solve: x/5-y/6=1 Why would you mess with a perfectly good Intercept Form?! \(\dfrac{x}{5} + \dfrac{y}{-6} = 1\) Plot the x-intercept (5,0) and the y-intercept (0,-6) and you're done.
