for all of these to find the shaded area, we can subtract the area that is not shaded from the area of the entire square. Does that make sense? :)

So for the first problem, if the length of the side is 2ft, then that means the diameter of the circleis also 2 ft. What you esentially have to do is take the entire area of the box and then rip out the area of the circle: |dw:1376730347346:dw|
