You know the quadratic formula? Or you can also do this by splitting the middle term.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you split the middle term?

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

You should use the quadratic formula. Splitting the middle term wont be a viable option.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how?

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

4x^2+2x-3=0 You have to split the middle term in such a manner that the sum of the two terms is 2 and the product is equal to 4*(-3).. But there arent any terms like that.
