OpenStudy (xochital):

What is the slope of the line passing through the point (4, −2) and perpendicular to the line y = 4x + 2? Write your answer as a fraction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm pretty sure its 4/1 (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does it show a graph? you can count it from there.

OpenStudy (xochital):

nope, there's no graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the line is perpendicular to that one, take the opposite reciprocal of that line's slope. So, the perpendicular line's slope is 4 so, your line's slope is -1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, yeah! @tabby2014 Is right! I totally forgot about that.

OpenStudy (xochital):

thank you guys! :)
