What is the value of the coefficient of "a" when the quadratic equation y = (3x + 1)(3x − 2) is written in standard form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a. −2 b. −3 c. 9 d. 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(3x + 1)(3x − 2) foil it out first :) can you do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no. I just need to finish this class

OpenStudy (anonymous):

???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait you dont need to foil it all out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since a is the first x^2's coefficient then 3x*3x=9x^2 and do to foiling it wont have a term added to it. Do you get it now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no?
