what is photosynthesis

thomaster (thomaster):

It's a chemical reaction in chlorophyll, a green pigment located in the chloroplasts of plant cells. This is the equation: \(\sf\large 6CO_2+6H_2O ~~\underrightarrow{~~light~energy~~}~C_6H_{12}O_6+6O_2\) As you see the products of the reaction are sugar and oxygen. The plant needs the sugar to fuel the organisms' activity. The oxygen is released as a waste product, and we need this oxygen to breathe.
