right after a sound card is pluged into the computer, does it need a software to work..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sound card or audio 5.1 channel PCl Acceleration card..

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Pretty much anything needs a driver. Some the system will have a default driver for.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so if the card is pushed in, the computer will read it an do whatever installation it has to do..

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

If it is a default, yes. If not, it will generally ask for a driver. Also it can depend on what operating system. Windows and Mac are designed to ask. LINUX may or may not, depends on the build.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like e.mccormick said, it will generally ask for a driver but mainly depends on your Operating system. If you have Windows, and have an internet connection it will automatically find the drivers for you IF the sound card is at least a little popular. If it doesn't find a driver, contact the company from whom you purchased the sound card. Hope I helped. - Skai
