4x/5 + 3/2 = 2x Multiply every term by 10, the least common denominator of the fractions (10)4x/5 + (10)3/2 = (10)2x 12 x 4x = 40x/5 = 8x 10 x 3 = 30/2 = 15 10 x 2x = 20x Now you have: 8x + 15 = 20x Subtract 8x from both sides 15 = 12x Divide both sides by 12 15/12 = x Reduce x = 5/4
