Write the quadratic equation whose roots are 1 and -1 , and whose leading coefficient is 5

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Eyeball problem. You should do this as quickly as you can read the problem. root 1 Factor (x-1) root -1 factor (x+1) Leading coefficient 5 5(x-1)(x+1) = 0 Done.

I got that far, but the example as for the solution to be in a format like ?x^2-?x+?=0

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Is there such a demand. My final form is most definitely a "Quadratic Equation". It will be a difference of squares (without the 5). Multiplying the factors should be within your skillset. Is it?
