So if a points coordinates are positive then it is in the first quadrant right?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you. are there any counter examples to this?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if you're considering both coordinates, there aren't any counterexamples

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

but if you only care about one coordinate, then there are some counterexamples

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

for instance if x is positive, then you could be quadrants 1 or 4 or if y is positive, then you could be quadrants 1 or 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok sweet thanks

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome
