Driving at 58 mile per hour, how many minutes will it take to drive 32 miles? a)35 b)40

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

So the speed is 58 miles per hour And the distance to be travleed is 32 miles! So we know that time = Distance/speed. Or 58/32 hours is the time UHOH! But they want it in minutes so the time taken would be? 58*60/32 minutes!! :D Getting me? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

Great! Now just calculate the final answer! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually the answer is 40 .but i have to calculate how is it 40

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

My bad it should actually be 32/58 as the time in hours! Haha. Didn't view that well! :D

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

So now to convert the to minutes all we do is multiply it by 60 and I think it it SHOULD approximate to 40 then! :) Understood? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

It still isn't 40! Then i think the options are incorrect or there is a typo in your question! :) But this IS the method! :)

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

You're welcome! :)
