|dw:1376917868669:dw|Simplify both equations individually until you have reached a shape with x < ...or x> ... Then, again for each equation independently, replace the > or < with = and solve for x. Once you have found x, find out which part of the domain fits your particular symbol. I've included an example in the drawing. In this example you can see that for x>2 the equation is true, but for x<2 or even x=2, you get values lower than 4. Finally, a open dot at x=2 means that 2 does not belong to the answer, while a closed dot at x=2 means that 2 is included. Hope this helps a little...
