CALCULUS II: Determine where the tangent line is horizontal or vertical: x = 4 sin(2t) y = 2 cos(3t)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

y'=0 is horisontal x'=0 is vertical

OpenStudy (amistre64):

y'=0 when sin 3t = 0 x' = 0 when cos 2t = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would I find the points where one of these tangent lines occur?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

solve for the zeros, then plug it into the xy parts that they gave you of course ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can do that..Thanks!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

spose x'=0 when t=k therefore: x = 4sin(2k) and y = 2cos(3k)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck :)
