The red graph (1) is the graph of f(x) = 2x. Describe the transformation of the blue function (2) and write the equation of the graph.
could you attach the graph please?
well its kind of like a slide....but it seems a l;ittle bigger... what grade is this math?
11th Algebra 2
the equation of the red graph can't be f(x) = 2x comparing the blue and red graph red graph move left by 1 unit, move up by 3 units, then flip it upside down. do you know how these transformation will affect the equation?
You mean \(f(x)=2^x\), right? \(2x\) would be a line, not a curve like this one. In any case, the transformation involves a horizontal and vertical shift. How would you show that for some function \(f(x)\) ?
f(x) = 2x is actually like this.Reply Using Drawing ok we can assume the red graph is 2x. do you know what equation will move the red graph to the left 1 unit?|dw:1376924033273:dw|
Not sure
ok this is the red graph (just a re-draw)|dw:1376924099827:dw|
ok
so the answer is the red line after the transformation (move left 1, move up 3, flip upside down) = the blue line
can you help with equation I'm stuck lol I get what your saying a little
In other words how did you get move left 1, move up 3, flip upside down
|dw:1376924304615:dw| red line
|dw:1376924330978:dw| blue line
