x-4y=10 8x+4y=8

OpenStudy (uri):

HA! this is easy :) Do it @JoStudy

OpenStudy (uri):

I taught you this :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know! I didn't quite figue out how you did that :P

OpenStudy (uri):

Oh.. -4y and +4y can be cancelled

OpenStudy (goformit100):

You can use Matrix method to solve it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that gives us 8x=18!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

doh

OpenStudy (uri):

x-4y=10 8x+4y=8 ====== 9x=18

OpenStudy (uri):

x + 8x =9x

OpenStudy (uri):

so 18 divide by 9 is 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gotcha! I couldn't figue out how you got 9x=18 and the x-4y=10 the x has no number so it's 1x 1x+8x=9

OpenStudy (uri):

x=2 Now you know how to solve for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks uri! I feel totally dumb! Thanks for staying patient. Or pretending you are ;P

OpenStudy (uri):

I was kinda sad..:c but now all rightt :)

OpenStudy (uri):

@JoStudy She solved y first and then x...don't get confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks again :) I couldn't see the forest through the trees or the + and - cancel out :P

OpenStudy (uri):

But solving x first and then y is step by step and easy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks Everyone! And thanks for answering me again uri :)

OpenStudy (uri):

Yw :) anytime..i don't mind
