Hi, I am looking to start learning to code, I hop this is the right subsection if not sorry, well I found a website Code Academy. Does anyone have past knowledge of the site that can give me their input? Thank you and sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I found Code Academy to be of mixed quality. Their online code editor and my security had a bit of a fight... not all the lessons are well thought out and do not always explain things very well. On the other hand: It is free! It does get the basics reasonably well. You don't need to install a bunch of compilers on your end.
I used Code Academy, it's brilliant TBH and IMO it's a great site for beginners. And as e.mccormick mentioned above.. it's FREE! However if you still find it difficult to use, then Google and youtube are there to help you as well as me. Hope I helped, - Skai
Speaking of Youtube videos, The New Boston has a ton of ones. Pick a language. Great complement to things like Code Academy or any self study: http://thenewboston.org/tutorials.php
Awesome guys, thanks I have gotten through about 18% of the Java Script course, it has some confusing properties but over time I think I can grasp it.
