Which equation is NOT a quadratic equation? Answer y = x2 + 6x - 5 y = 2x + 5 y = 2x2 + 5 y = 4x2 I tried putting them in my calculator to see which was a parabola, but none of them were. Am I doing something wrong? I am very confused haha.
You are doing something terribly wrong
You dont put it in the calculator
You have to just look at it
What do you know about quadratic equations?
It seems like you are not even trying
If you are not even going to try, I wont bother to help you
I haven't done algebra since 8th grade so I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. If you tell me how to go about it I can, but I'm drawing a blank on everything.
Do you know what is a quadratic equation is? And what is the difference between linear and quadratic equations?
Yes
What is a quadratic equation then? The answer should be obvious just by looking at the equations if you know what it is.
A quadratic has an exponent of 2 for one of its variables. Which option does not have an exponent of 2?
Oh wow I didn't even see that one didn't have an exponent
I feel silly. Thank you! Haha I should definitely re-read the answers next time.
I was graphing them trying to see which one wasn't a parabola when I could have just read the answers properly. How dumb. Thanks again haha
Don't put yourself down or call yourself dumb. So, which answer is it? Let's confirm. @emgerr
It's B. don't worry I've got it. thanks again
I agree.
