i would think you would simplify it because in algebra you usually want the simplest form possible

yes but i had tried simplifying it and i couldnt get the answer

oh i just took -7/14 and simplified it... is that what yo meant or is there more to the problem?

it is -7 divided by 14 over 3

i took 14 and divided it by 1/3. then i took the answer which was 4.6 and did -7/4.6 i got -1.5 out of all your choices the only one to be -1.5 when converted is -3/2... hope this helps!
