what is -7 / 14 thirds a. - 2/3 b. -98/3 -1/2 d.-3/2 Please help!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you mean -7 1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its -7 divided by fourteen thirds sorry about that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldn't that be -1/2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well when i worked it out i got -98/3 but would you simplify it or not???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would think you would simplify it because in algebra you usually want the simplest form possible

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but i had tried simplifying it and i couldnt get the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i just took -7/14 and simplified it... is that what yo meant or is there more to the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is -7 divided by 14 over 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i took 14 and divided it by 1/3. then i took the answer which was 4.6 and did -7/4.6 i got -1.5 out of all your choices the only one to be -1.5 when converted is -3/2... hope this helps!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@rawalter26 do you still need help on this one?
