How do I go about finding the slope of the curve at P(2, -3) and an equation of the tangent line at P for the function y = x^2-2x-3?

You utilize your best algebra skills and you remember the Point-Slope form of a line. The point you are given. The slope comes from the 1st Derivative evaluated at x = 2. If it were me, I would first check to see that the point actually is on the given curve.
